Additions:  I like to add a slice of cucumber to my homemade ginger ale for an extra step of refreshing zing.

A dash of vanilla extract is a nice touch.  See our post on How To Make Vanilla Extract for the richest, most potent vanilla you’ve ever had.  It’s a baker’s secret ingredient.

Commercial simple syrup:  I recommend Monin because of its clean ingredient list.  There are several craft suppliers that make small batch simple syrups with clean ingredients as well.
